The potlatch was really fun. My favorite part was when Mrs.Heine's class did the questions about what the Athabaskan's used or did. I loved the food after the potlatch. My favorite food there was the rice. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE rice. I think we should keep EVERYTHING the same. It was the best potlatch in the world!!!!!!!!!(I meant to capitalize the words love and everything).
The potlatch was great! I still don't get why people laughed after they heard mine. I was kinda confused, but unconfterable at the same time because in my head I was saying, " Are they laughing at me?! Are they laughing at my haiku?!" It was still fun though because I got to see my grandma AND my baby COUSIN Lilias Grace (you can just call her Lilias or Grace).

Madelyn, the people were not laughing at you. They were laughing because you mentioned how it can be cold in Fairbanks and the people were agreeing with your statement by chuckling. The audience could truly relate to your Haiku. You did a beautiful job and should be proud of yourself and your work. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed the event. All of the kids did a wonderful job on their haiku's and their drawings. Fun to see all of the family's contributing and enjoying the food at the potlatch. Nice job 3rd graders!
